Cardrona 2022 birthday Single Malt Whisky release is an exquisite marriage of four hand selected Felton Road Pinot noir casks. With just 1,217 bottles, this expression demonstrates a mastery of both maturation in an extreme environment and world-leading innovation in cask management. Cardrona has developed a revolutionary method to preserve the delicate wine seasoning of locally sourced Quercus robur Pinot noir wine casks, sourced exclusively from Felton Road. To preserve the fresh and vibrant red-fruit notes of the seasoning, we collect the casks from the local winery, landing them in the Cardrona valley within hours of the wine dumping and charge the casks immediately with Cardrona New Make Spirit. The casks have then rested, maturing in the extreme environment of the Cardrona valley. With a temperature variation from -10 degrees C in winter to 40 degrees in summer, combined with zero humidity, and an altitude of 600 metres above sea level, combined with a pristine location of outstanding natural beauty and purity. The extreme environment has melded the spirit into Whisky of outstanding character. These four casks have been selected for their peak balance of spirit and wood. The result is an extraordinary dram from a New World.

Octomore 13.3 demonstrates the phenomenal force of flavour when combining super-heavy peat with the variable harvests gathered from the island of Islay, on one singular farm. Raised by friend and farmer James Brown, just two miles south of the distillery, this crop of Concerto barley was distilled in 2016 from the 2015 growing season, has been patiently coaxed through Bruichladdich's Victorian distillery before being filled into first fill ex-American oak casks and second fill European oak casks.

Whisky maker Steven Bremner has taken inspiration from the Arabica coffee and developed a whisky aged in both European and American oak casks which delivers notes reminiscent of a divinely sweet yet strong espresso. This limited annual release series brings together innovative sustainable packaging techniques with natural materials at the end of their life to see them given new use and purpose. With a distinct coffee flavour, this whisky exudes notes of espresso, dark chocolate and sweet oak. Glenfiddich's Malt Master Brian Kinsman travelled to Canada to meet a renowned winemaker in Niagara. There he learned how the grapes had to be picked by moonlight at -10ºC to produce the intensely sweet Icewine. Brian started experimenting with several French oak Icewine casks from the Canadian winery - only the rarer whiskies, those aged for 21 years, could cope with the extra Icewine intensity. The taste is a perfect combination of both pioneering liquids, the heightened candied sweets and oakiness of Glenfiddich are complemented by mouth-watering tropical fruit notes and a luscious sweetness from the unique Icewine cask finish.
