Back from the grave and holier than thou, No New Pope is Behemoth's big, bold, Black Smoked Imperial Stout. This stout is rich, roasty, and cloaked in divine smoke, like incense in a cathedral... if that incense was set on fire by a pyromaniac monk with a taste for strong beer. Churly channelling some papal mischief behind the big chair. No heresy here, just heavenly dark malts, smoky whispers, and enough body to make you question your faith (in weaker stouts).

You know the classic choccy fish? Soft, sweet, raspberry-filled memories of childhood? Well, this ain't that. This is the Big Fish & it's gone rogue. It's eaten all the little fish, raided the raspberry patch, and done a cannonball into a vat of rich, velvety chocolate. At a boozy 8%, this imperial stout is swimming in decadence, diving deep into dessert territory with waves of lush raspberry and a tsunami of dark chocolate. It's big, it's bold, and it's definitely not safe for school lunches. One sip and you'll be hooked.

Garage Project are heading south for their fifth collaboration with Boston brewing legends Trillium, down to Garston Hops in Southland's Nokomai Valley. A massive dry hop of hand selected Nelson Sauvin, Motueka and NZ Cascade bring passionfruit, peach and citrus in this giant juicy hazy homage to one of New Zealand's most exciting new hop growing regions.

Stand well back, it's time for weightier matters. Deadlift drops a ton of Citra, Rakau and Nelson Sauvin into a powerful Double IPA that punches you in the nose, overwhelms your palate and leaves you in a daze of citrus, stonefruit, gooseberry, grape and pear. Heavy lifting even for the committed hop fanatic so bend your knees and don't use your back like crane.

Don't play with your beer, they said. Oops. Emerson's love playing with Bird Dog. Having brewed a Gin Dog, a chilly dog and even a Little Bird they are now very excited to bring you Dirty Bird. Dirty in the best possible hazy way. All the flavours you would expect from the original, just a little sweeter, and a tad more citrus and tropical, with a slightly piney finish. Best served in a clean glass.

Charlie the Cockatoo - a feathered New Plymouth icon - lived until the ripe old age of 40, mostly situating himself alongside the Tea Rooms at Pukekura Park. A brief disappearance in 2013 had people guessing that he'd flown the coop, or worse, had gone to 'visit the farm'. Rather, he had been relegated to an aviary around the back of Brookland's Zoo, quite possibly due to the swear words that he had learned from dastardly teenagers. It appeared that Rehab served him well, however, as Charlie landed back at his usual perch for many more years entertaining locals and visitors alike. This Hazy IPA is brewed with Galaxy, Nelson Sauvin, Peachrine, Citra, and offers up flavours of juicy stone fruit, passionfruit and citrus.

Lakeman have embraced the Dubai Chocolate trend and created an indulgent pastry stout. A sweet and creamy chocolate malt base balanced with a little roastiness, and earthy pistachio creates a decadent stout.

At the height of the Great War in 1916, German Raider SMS Wolf sailed from Germany to disrupt and sink Allied shipping. She ventured as far as Taranaki, laying mines that claimed at least two ships off the shores of Aotearoa in what was the first known hostile act against New Zealand. One keen Coastal local by the name of Frank Mace, discovered a mine just off Surf Highway 45, pulling it ashore using chains. It would undergo a controlled detonation on the beach watched by many keen onlookers, as the explosion rocked houses as far as New Plymouth's hills, leaving a massive crater that swept along the beach. This West Coast IPA explodes with a minefield of Citrus and Tropical hops over a malt base, and was first brewed for Malthouse WCIPA Challenge 2024 in Wellington, New Zealand.
